Madam Renée Arsenault-Delisle

A committed woman who always gives of her time. Since 1980, she has been a member of the Société de généalogie des Cantons-de-l'Est, of which she received the distinction of emeritus member in 1999. She has done digital capture in several parishes in the Eastern Townships.

 

Mister Joel Barter

He is a major collector and interested in everything related to Bury’s history. He also Knows all of Bury’s founding families.

 

Madame Irma Chapman, descended from a large founding family of Bury.

 

Mrs. Donna Coates

During the 24th edition of the Hommage Bénévolat-Québec awards, she won the Volunteer of the Year award. She instill confidence and motivation in young people to persevere in their schooling. She introduces more than one to the pleasures of reading, nourishes their curiosity and, remarkably, she does it in English and French.

 

Mister Gilles Denis

Owner of the local grocery store in Cookshire, this entrepreneur says “I learned a lot about life through culture.’’ He multiplied cultural projects such as the creation of an Art Gallery and a House of Culture. Through his actions, citizens can discover the local culture.

 

Madam Rachel Garber

Editor of the Townships Sun Magazine which has served the Eastern Townships for 50 years, Rachel is also a former Director General of Townshippers Association. She served on the Board of Directors of La Maison Aube-Lumiere in Sherbrooke.

 

Monsieur Roch Lapointe

Mr. Lapointe is a very generous entrepreneur. He is known for his respect for the conservation of Bury’s heritage.

 

Madame Praxède Lévesque

Mother of 5 children and owner of a maple grove with 15,000 taps for over 40 years, Ms. Lévesque is always available to help.

 

Madame Beverly Loomiss

Mrs. Loomis has been a tireless volunteer in the community for decades.

 

Mister John Mackley

M Macley is an archivist. He manages the Bury Historical and Heritage Society website and the «Facebook». He is on the board of the newspaper «Bury Image» and the Bury library. He is very generous and almost indispensable.

 

Mister Michel Morin

Since the age of 16, Mr. Morin has been a collector of artifacts and everything related to military history. He is passionate about heritage.

 

Mister Edward Pedersen

Pedersen is devoted man and a High-level volunteer. He was part of the group that saved the Canterbury Church and is now a centre that presents events during the summer season.

 

Madame Lisa Smith

She has changed the life of so many youth in the Stanstead Area.

Woodard has been an involved member within the Stanstead community for many, many years.

 

Mister David Wright

Mr. David (Skip) Wright has been either Editor or Publisher of the Townships Sun, since November 2000. He is currently Publisher and President of the Board of Directors. He has played a significant role in its survival and growth through challenging times.
