I am thankful to PM Justin Trudeau for the confidence instilled in me by offering me a new responsibility as Minister of Canada Revenue Agency. With many programs benefitting those who need it most, including the new Canada Dental Benefit, and almost 60,000 employees, I will have the opportunity use my management skill set.

 

It is nonetheless difficult to leave the extraordinary teams at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. We accomplished many things together over the past four years. A big shout out to the hundreds of thousands of farmers and workers in the agriculture and agri-food sector. You will never cease to impress me with your courage, your resilience, and your capacity to innovate. Because of you, Canada will remain a world leader in sustainable agriculture!

 

Congratulations to the new minister, Lawrence MacAulay. Please know, dear friend, that I will always remain a strong ally of the agriculture sector.
